Thank you for visiting our homepage. The 18th Machining Innovations Conference for Aerospace Industry with 180 participants from 14 countries was a great success. There is no other branch, which combines such high safety standards, requirements and qualifications on cost efficiency than the aerospace industry. To face these challenges, a continuous development of new light and high-strength materials in aerospace industry is necessary. Alongside with the sales forecasts for the upcoming years this leads to new challenges for manufacturing technology in the aerospace industry.
To meet these challenges the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools of the Leibniz University Hannover (IFW) and the Manufacturing Innovations Network e.V. organize the “Machining Innovations Conference for Aerospace Industry” since 18 years. Last year's conference contributed different insights in the latest developments and trends in regard of manufacturing technology in the aerospace industry. Main topics were machine tool technology and additive manufacturing.
In addition to production technology, the focus of MIC 2019 will be on near-net-shape forging. Synergies between aerospace technology and automotive engineering will also be analysed.
